Sharing the Homes for Good Approach
Homes for Good was established with the aim of sharing best practice in the Private Rented Sector. We are now able to launch our programme to do this with funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Great track record as a social enterprise lettings agency
The Homes for Good (HFG) group, Scotland’s only private sector lettings agency specialising in providing homes for people on low incomes or benefits, has over 500 properties under management and works with around 130 landlords and 800 tenants in and around Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
Since 2014 HFG has raised around £12 million investment to create its own portfolio of high-quality homes for people in housing need.
Programme to share our approach includes
The programme includes sharing our expertise and resources in two ways:
1) a programme of online webinars
2) an online community where both Homes for Good and our partners can share resources, best practice and tools.
Who might find this programme helpful
You might be an entrepreneur, perhaps someone delivering on housing within a local authority, or working in a voluntary sector organisation or running a lettings agency already.
Through the programme, we offer the opportunity to learn about our approach and the chance to meet others equally interested in improving the Private Rented Sector in their local areas.
Webinars
The first webinar “Homes for Good – introduction to a social enterprise lettings agency” is being run regularly as it introduces our approach and sets the scene for engaging with us through the community and other resources. Click here for more information and dates about all our webinars.
Deep Dive visits to Homes for Good in Glasgow
You will be hosted for the day in Bridgeton by our founder Susan Aktemel, Alice Simpson (COO), Joey Lawrie (Head of Lettings and Tenancy Support) and Barry Sweeney (Head of Assets, Acquisitions and Maintenance).
We include a visit to one of our properties and a discussion with our interior designer too. We also provide lunch. This is a great way to learn all about our work if you want to start a social enterprise lettings agency.
We keep the numbers to a maximum of 6 people to allow us to host you properly. This visit is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Click here to book.
Online community
The online community is being launched as a LinkedIn Group. It aims to connect the organisations and individuals looking to the Private Rented Sector (PRS) to deliver more homes for people who need them. Homes for Good will share our approach to this social challenge in this group through webinars and resources. We invite like minded people and organisations with a similar mission to join the group and share their ideas.
