MEDIA RELEASE

Orange balloons and a glass of fizz welcomed colleagues and supporters on the evening of Wednesday 12th February as we marked our first anniversary in the South of Scotland and the opening of our new branch right in the heart of Dumfries!

Andrew Richards, our lettings manager in the South of Scotland said: “It’s been brilliant to celebrate a successful first year and reflect on what we’ve achieved and the relationships that have been built. I’m looking forward to making the most of the many opportunities to assist new landlords and tenants throughout the South of Scotland as we work to improve standards in the Private Rented Sector with our ethical approach to letting and property management.”

We were thrilled to be joined by our friends at South of Scotland Enterprise, The National Lottery Community Fund, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Midsteeple Quarter and other supporters from the region to share in this celebration and discuss ideas for future growth.

Last year, we expanded our award-winning model for the private rental sector into the South of Scotland, thanks to funding and support from the National Lottery Community Fund and South of Scotland Enterprise. This funding allowed us to open a Homes for Good branch just off the high street in Dumfries and begin building the team and business in the region.

We end our first year with properties under management throughout Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders, including managing ‘The Standard’, a multi-million-pound development by Midsteeple Quarter revitalising Dumfries town centre, and a diverse portfolio of more rural portfolios all the way to Eyemouth in the Borders.

We are transforming the rental experience for both landlords and tenants by taking exceptional care of people and property. Here’s what our landlords are saying about us…

“Homes For Good are very professional, quick to respond and provide great customer service along with taking the time to build an excellent relationship with our tenants. Our property manager has a wealth of experience, which shows in the care taken when dealing with our tenants.”

The Robertson Trust, portfolio landlord.

“After several conversations with other letting agencies, we decided to go with Homes For Good due to their professionalism and friendliness. They met all of my expectations and their fees compare really well with other agencies. I feel confident leaving my property with Homes for Good as I prepare to go abroad. They have reassured all my worries and have always been there to answer any queries. I highly recommend them!”

Natalie, landlord.

“Getting landlords to change letting agents is like banking. They think it is going to be very difficult. They think in terms of the cost at the time, not the overall service and long-term costs. It’s about what comes out of the bank at the time. Accidental landlords and longer-term people like me do it because they love the buzz of property, not the business side of things! I always took pride in doing everything by myself, not just to save money, but I wanted to prove I could do it all myself. But it’s really a false economy. I switched to Homes for Good after being highly dissatisfied with a number of previous letting agents. They have gone out of their way to get to know tenants quickly, deal with any problems immediately and get the portfolio running smoothly. I can’t thank them enough.”
